Ben Macpherson was appointed Minister for Europe, Migration and International Development in June 2018.
Specific responsibilities are:
- migration policy
- international development
- cross government co-ordination on the European Union
- Fair Trade
- Scottish diaspora
He is a qualified solicitor and has worked is a number of private, public and third sector roles, including as a commercial lawyer. His employment includes working in the renewable energy and financial services sectors.
He studied at both the University of Edinburgh and the University of York.
Ben, who is from Edinburgh, was elected as MSP for Edinburgh Northern and Leith in May 2016.
