Scottish Commemorations Panel

Role of the group

We set up the Scottish Commemorations Panel in March 2013 to recommend a preferred approach for, and oversee the delivery of, Scotland's commemorations of the centenary of World War One.

Scotland will commemorate the centenary of World War One between 2014 and 2018 by recognising the broad impact of war on Scotland and its people. We will co-ordinate our activities with those of the UK and beyond.

Our commemorations will encompass local, national and international dimensions, and will encourage coordination and collaboration between Scottish delivery bodies. A key outcome will be developing a lasting legacy across generations which recognises the impact of the war on families and communities.

More information is available on the WW100 Scotland website.

Meeting minutes prior to November 2016 can be found in the archive.
