Index of Manufacturing Exports 2016, Q2

A National Statistics publication for Scotland.

Scotland’s Chief Statistician today announced the publication of the latest Index of Manufactured Exports for the second quarter of 2016.

This quarterly publication measures changes, in constant-price and seasonally-adjusted terms, in export sales to the rest of the world from manufacturing businesses located in Scotland.

The main findings are:

• The volume of Scottish manufactured export sales fell by 0.8 per cent during the second quarter of 2016.

• On a rolling-annual basis, comparing the latest four quarters to the previous four quarters, manufactured export volumes contracted by 3.6 per cent.

Following feedback from users, from 2016 Q3 the Index of Manufactured Exports will be incorporated within Quarterly National Accounts Scotland (QNAS).
