A National Statistics Publication for Scotland.
Scotland's Chief Statistician today published Key Scottish Environment Statistics 2015.
The publication provides key datasets on the state of the environment in Scotland, with an emphasis on trends over time. It contains chapters and charts on public attitudes to the environment, global atmosphere, air quality, water, radioactivity, waste, land, conservation and biodiversity which are supplemented by text providing brief information for each measure on why it is important, trend and factors affecting the trend. It is accompanied by a separate Excel workbook containing the full datasets. A two page overview provides a summary of the trends shown by the statistics and there is an introductory page for each chapter.
This publication includes previously published statistics and figures produced by other organisations, some of which are not official statistics. The publication is only available as a web publication.
The figures released today were produced by independent statistical staff free from any political interference, in accordance with professional standards set out in the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.
