Italy enjoys a slice of Scotland at Milan Expo.
Scotland's Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and the Environment Richard Lochhead grabs a slice of pizza with a Scottish twist during a visit to the prestigious international Milan Expo to promote Scottish food and drink.
The traditional Italian delicacy was topped with Macsween's haggis, and is one of three Scottish-inspired pizzas offered by Varvello pizzeria this weekend.
Mr Lochhead said:
"Italy is known as one of the world's great food-loving nations and Italians are very particular about their pizza. Haggis-topped pizza is a fantastic fusion of Scotland and Italy's culinary traditions and so it is no surprise these Scottish-style slices have been going down an absolute storm at the Milan Expo, where I am promoting Scotland as we celebrate our Year of Food and Drink. It underlines the global opportunities that are within the grasp of Scotland's thriving food and drink industry, which has now achieved a record-breaking turnover of £14.3 billion."
