Quarterly National Accounts Scotland, 2015 Q4
A National Statistics Publication for Scotland.
The latest publication of Quarterly National Accounts Scotland statistics was announced today by Scotland’s Chief Statistician. This release includes results for GDP and its components, household income and expenditure, and public sector revenues up to the fourth quarter of 2015 (October-December) as well as the first estimates for 2015 as a whole.
Key statistics in the latest release are:
- In 2015 as a whole, annual onshore Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Scotland is estimated to have been £142 billion in total, or around £26,500 per person.
- Including a population share of UK extra-regio (offshore and overseas) economic activity, Scottish GDP is estimated at £143 billion in total, or around £26,700 per person.
- Including a geographical share of all offshore activity occurring in Scottish adjacent waters, total Scottish GDP is estimated at £152 billion in total, or around £28,400 per person.
- In 2015 Q4, Gross Disposable Household Income (GDHI) is estimated to have increased by 2.1% over the year from 2014 Q4 (in current prices, not real terms).
- The Household Savings Ratio is 6.3 per cent in the latest quarter, down from 9.1 per cent in the same period in the previous year.

Quarterly National Accounts Scotland (QNAS) provides users with a range of macroeconomic statistics for Scotland, including Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the onshore economy measured using output, income and expenditure approaches, estimates of UK extra-regio (offshore) activities attributable to Scotland, household sector income and expenditure accounts, and public sector revenues.
