Engaging communities in decisions relating to land

We published guidance on engaging communities in decisions relating to land on 18 April 2018.

The guidance sets out expectations for positive and constructive engagement between those who control land and local communities across rural and urban Scotland.

We consulted on guidance on engaging communities in decisions relating to land between March and June in 2017, and published the consultation analysis in November 2017.

Ministers are required to lay a periodical report before Parliament assessing the effectiveness of the guidance and any steps to improve the Guidance. We published the first such guidance review report on 23 March 2021.
