Age, Home and Community: next phase

This is a refresh of the 2011 publication of the Age, Home and Community strategy.

Beyond the Strategy Period

As stated at the outset of this refreshed strategy, we want all of Scotland’s older people to be able to live independently in their own homes for as long as they wish to do so. The actions set out in this plan under Right Advice, Right Home and Right Support will help us achieve this aim. Over the last 5 years unexpected issues have arisen and we have had to adapt and mitigate where possible. During the next phase, we will continue to respond and adapt to fresh challenges. Issues such as population demographics and an increase in the state pension age will continue to impact on Scotland and its older people well beyond the end of the current strategy timescales. Going forward, we will continue to work with older people, local authorities, third sector organisations and other stakeholders to ensure older people in Scotland enjoy full and positive lives in homes that meet their needs.
