The total cost incurred by the Scottish Government in preparing, running and analysing the consultation (on a draft referendum bill), broken down into distinct areas.

The Scottish Government holds the following information you have asked for. The costs incurred by the Scottish Government in publishing the consultation paper and analysing the responses (as at 6th July) are set out in the following table:

Staff Costs

The work that has been undertaken to date has been carried out by existing members of staff as part of their normal duties. In line with usual practice, no record has been taken of the number staff who have been involved in this work or the number of hours spent on individual tasks, as there is no business need to do this.
