You asked for:

1. First Minister's diary engagements on 26 April 2017

The full details of the First Minister's diary, including all engagements, for the 26 April 2017.

Please state the location and times of the meetings with Tommy Whitelaw of the Dementia Alliance and Murray Foote of the Daily Record.

Please note that this is a request under FOISA that is not covered by information already released into the public domain under Scottish Government transparency data.

2. Correspondence relating to First Minister's diary engagements on 26 April 2017

Any correspondence, meeting agendas or meeting minutes, details of phone calls or any other communications, both internal and external, regarding the First Minister's diary and engagements for the 26 April 2017.

In relation to point 1, the location and times for the meeting are as follows:

  • Tommy Whitelaw – Dementia Alliance – 15:30 – The Scottish Parliament

  • Murray Foote – Daily Record – 16:00 – The Scottish Parliament

In relation to point 2, I attach copies of all communications relating to the First Minister's diary engagements of the 26th April.

An exemption applies under section s.29(1)(a) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested.

s.30(b)(ii) - Formulation or development of Scottish Government policy – Advice relating to future decisions.

An exemption applies under section s.30(b)(ii) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested.

s.30(b)(ii) - Free and frank exchange of views – Officials giving opinions. An exemption applies under section s.38(1)(b) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested.

s.30(b)(ii) – Personal data – names and contact details of individuals.

This exemption is subject to the 'public interest test'. Therefore, taking account of all the circumstances of this case, we have considered if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption. We have found that, on balance, the public interest lies in favour of upholding the exemption.
