Communications with the email address foi@spa.pnn.police.uk: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

FOI reference: FOI/18/00389
Date received: 9 February 2018
Date responded: 7 March 2018

Information requested

Any correspondence (emails, typed or handwritten notes, letters, phone calls, minutes of meetings, briefs or otherwise) between the email address 'foi@spa.pnn.police.uk' and any of: special advisers (including the special adviser FOI email account), communications staff, civil servants, Ministers, and/or Scottish Government officials tasked with responding to FOI requests.

Response

I have carried out a search for any information relevant to your request, and have identified only two items. These are emails sent by the Scottish Government's Freedom of Information Unit to a number of different stakeholders in 2014.

I have applied section 38(1)(b) of FOISA in order to redact personal names from the email distribution lists used since disclosing such information would contravene the data protection principles in Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 1998. This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

About FOI
