FOI reference: FOI/18/01829
Date received: 29 June 2018
Date responded: 27 July 2018

Information requested

A copy of all the feedback that the Scottish Government has received on national standardised assessments for primary one children.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under section 25(1) information otherwise accessible; section 33(1)(b) commercial interests and section 38(1)(b) personal information, applies to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained below. Some information has also been redacted as it was out of the scope of your request. Having considered all relevant information, I have attached pdf files with all available information included.

Some of the information you have requested is available on our website at:

Reasons for not providing information

An exemption under section 25(1) of FOISA applies to some of the information requested – Information otherwise accessible. As this information is already in the public domain, we are not required to provide it.

An exemption under section 33(1)(b) of FOISA (commercial interests) also applies to some of the information you have requested. This exemption applies because disclosure would (or would be likely to) prejudice substantially the commercial interests of any person or organisation.

An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to a small amount of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, ie names and contact details of individuals, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 1998. This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
