Funding given out under New Entrants Capital Grant Scheme (NECGS): FOI release

[1] Under the scheme, beneficiaries have 12 months to complete the work and submit a claim.  As the scheme only opened to applications on 1 January 2015 no payments were made before 31 March 2016.

[2] The NECGS is part of the Scottish Rural Development Programme 2014-20, which assumed £22 million of support for the three schemes dedicated to helping new entrants (Young Farmers Start-up Grant Scheme, New Entrants Start-up Grant Scheme and the NECGS).  The indicative budget for the NECGS is £8 million.  As requested, the answer provides actual spend up to 31 July 2018.  We expect, however, to have committed the full indicative budget taking into account existing outstanding claims and the assessment of applications received prior to the scheme closure date of 31 August 2018.
