  • What are average fines (in Sheriff Court, Justice of the Peace, Fiscal fines and Anti-social behaviour fine)?
  • Cross-tabulation of crimes/offences and fines
  • Fines for reconvictions

Response

Information on the value of average fines issued by Sheriff courts and Justice of the Peace courts, broken down by crime, is provided in the attached excel table. Our database does not hold information on the value of non-court fines.

Following earlier correspondence to clarify your requirements regarding fines for reconvictions, you are content that the information available in table 15 of the Reconviction Rates in Scotland publication meets your needs:
