The Working Group is grateful to Doreen Grove for the work she undertook in reviewing the links between languages and employability which is summarised in Annex A.

The Chair also wishes to place on record his appreciation for the time taken by a number of schools, headteachers and teaching staff to accommodate visits to discuss language learning and to explore the issues surrounding the implementation of a 1 + 2 language policy. Visits to secondary schools in many cases involved engagement with staff from associated primary schools. These include Perth High, Queen Anne High, Liberton High, Bathgate Academy, Loudon Academy, Grange Academy, Hillhead High, Elgin Academy,

George Heriot's, Craigour Park Primary School, Boroughmuir High, St Ninian's High (Kirkintilloch) and Irvine Royal Academy.
