Planning Bill: Strategic Environmental Assessment action plan
The Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) action plan outlines our progress work on the Planning Bill with key agencies and planning authorities.
The Stategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Research published by Historic Environment Scotland in February 2018 illustrates how far we still have to go to make sure that environmental assessment is proportionate, fit for purpose and meaningful in a transformed planning system.
Through this action plan we will renew our work with key agencies and planning authorities to ensure that a stronger and simpler planning system is supported rather than undermined by accessible, relevant and good quality environmental information.
We will also consider skills and scope for sharing resources as part of this work.
