Property factor registration fees

The fees for applying to our property factor register.

The Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011 (the Act) enables the Scottish Ministers to set a fee for applications to the register.

Registration last three years and the fee is currently set at:

  • £200 for property factors who manage 100 properties or fewer
  • £750 for property factors who manage more than 100 properties

The income recieved by fees contributes towards the operational costs of the property factor register. The remainder of costs are met by the Scottish Government.

There is also provision for Scottish Ministers to set a fee for the provision of information as required by the Act. However there are currently no plans to commence this provision.

The Act requires that the income recieved does not exceed the actual costs of running the register. Costs are monitored on a regular basis.

The income recieved from fees does not contribute to the operation of the Homeowner Housing Panel which is funded via separate arrangements.
