Introduction

In light of the financial and economic appraisals that had been carried out officials had advised Ministers that, with a high subsidy requirement and a low level of forecast employment creation, the project did not pass the value for money appraisals that were applied to such proposals. A 2002 written authority did not cover a tendering exercise as it was effectively spent at the conclusion of that tendering exercise.

Therefore, on 30 January 2005, Accountable Officer Nicole Stephen sent Eddie Frizzell, Enterprise, Transport and Lifelong Learning a written authority regarding the Campbeltown to Ballycastle Ferry Service. Download a copy of the written authority and a copy of the formal request.
