Information requested

The amount (in value) distributed to creditors annually via the Debt Arrangement Scheme from 2013, to the most recent quarter of 2017; and when the next tender process will open for parties to participate in submitting a tender response to become a payment distributor.

Response

The total amount paid annually through the Debt Arrangement Scheme (divided into financial quarter) from the financial year 2012/2013 until the last published quarter is detailed in the table below. Statistical data is published on the AiB website on a quarterly basis and can be accessed here: https://www.aib.gov.uk/about-aib/statistics-data/quarterly-reports. The information for quarter 1 of 2017/18 has yet to be collated and is due to be published on 26 July.

  • AiB's application fee and the payments distributors' fee are deducted from the debtor payments before being distributed to creditors.

In accordance with Part 3 and schedule 4 of the Debt Arrangement Scheme (Scotland) Regulations 2011, as amended, the DAS Administrator appointed the members of the most recent Payments Distributor Panel from 1 July 2015. The current panel has been appointed for a period of 3 years with an option to extend for an additional year at the discretion of the DAS Administrator. The contract extension option will be considered in early 2018 and the decision will be publicised on our website. Any future procurement exercise will similarly be publicised on our website and on the Public Contracts Scotland website, it is not possible at this juncture to specify when this will occur.
