Heat pump installations in past 10 years: EIR release

Information request and response under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004

Information requested

  • You asked for information about how many heat pumps have been installed in the past decade in Scotland, separated by type, air and ground source.
  • You also asked how many of those installations applied for government help and loans and grants? directly or via government supported funding?
  • And you asked, how many of the support applications in the past 10 years have received the grant/loan applied for?

Response

As the information you have requested is 'environmental information' for the purposes of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs), we are required to deal with your request under those Regulations. We are applying the exemption at section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA), so that we do not also have to deal with your request under FOISA.

Response to your request

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The Scottish Government does not collect or collate information about all heat pump installations in Scotland.

The answers to your questions is attached as an Annex.
