What funding has the Scottish Government provided to the National Mining Museum Scotland from 2019 until 2023?

As a condition of funding were the recruitment procedures, in particular concerning equality, diversity and inclusion, stipulated by the Scottish Government, followed by the National Mining Museum Scotland Trust in their 2023 Trustee recruitment process?

To whom is the Chair of the National Mining Museum Scotland Trust accountable to?

Response

Regarding your first point, the Scottish Government has provided funding of £463,000 per annum to the National Mining Museum Scotland from 2019 to 2023.

Regarding your second point, as a condition of Scottish Government grant payments, organisations are asked to commit to Fair Work First criteria including action to tackle the gender pay gap and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Evidence that the National Mining Museum Scotland is demonstrating their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in its recruitment process is available online at https://www.nationalminingmuseum.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/NMMS-Trustees-Candidate-Pack-June-2023.pdf in the sections titled “The Opportunity” and “NMMST Equal Opportunities Statement”.

Regarding your third point, the Chair of the National Mining Museum Scotland Trust is independent.
