Request for information 1: The number of social workers currently employed by Social Security Scotland.

In addition to saying how many there are, please also state their Whole Time/Full Time Equivalence. In other words, how many hours they work for Social Security Scotland.

Request for information 2: An explanation of the duties they undertake working for Social Security Scotland.

Request for information 1:
There are 52 colleagues employed by Social Security Scotland who hold a current social work registration. This is in line with our obligations under the Social Security (Scotland Act) 2018 and the Disability Assistance for Working Age People (Scotland) Regulations 2022. These colleagues work in Practitioner roles within the Health and Social Care Division. The Full Time Equivalence of the 52 workers is 46.89.

Request for information 2:
These colleagues work in Practitioner roles within the Health and Social Care Division. They provide professional advice and decision-making support to operational colleagues in relation to client applications for Child Disability Payment (CDP) and Adult Disability Payment (ADP) including undertaking consultations, when required, to help understand the impact of the client’s disability and/or health condition on their daily living.
