Information requested

1. How much has the Scottish Government paid out for car tax in 2021, 2022 and 2023? Breakdown for each cost. Could you supply a list of incidents when car tax ran out if this happened?

2. How much has the Scottish Government paid out for low emission zones in 2021, 2022 and 2023? Breakdown for each cost. Could you supply a list of these incidents, including where it happened and who was charged?

3. Who had the final sign-off for charges on the Scottish Government credit card between 2020 and 2023?

Response

1. How much has the Scottish Government paid out for car tax in 2021, 2022 and 2023? Breakdown for each cost. -Could you supply a list of incidents when car tax ran out if this happened?

All Scottish Government fleet vehicles are owned and operated under the “Crown Vehicle” Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) exemption; therefore, no costs have been incurred during 2021, 2022 and 2023.

2. How much has the Scottish Government paid out for low emission zones in 2021, 2022 and 2023? Breakdown for each cost. Could you supply a list of these incidents, including where it happened and who was charged?

The Scottish Government has not incurred any Low Emission Zone (LEZ) costs during 2021, 2022 and 2023.

3. Who had the final sign-off for charges on the Scottish Government credit card between 2020 and 2023?

Each Scottish Government electronic Procurement Card has an authoriser assigned to it. The role of the authoriser is to approve what was bought and the budget it is charged to.
